Hot bending

Hot bending of plastics

With hot bending, we can form plastic sheets and profiles into precise angles and curves without cutting or welding the material. The workpiece is locally heated along the bend line until the plastic becomes soft and pliable, after which it is bent to the desired angle and held in place while the material cools and retains its shape.

The method is gentle on the material and preserves the plastic's strength and surface quality along the fold line. It is suitable for manufacturing boxes, screens, brackets, and other constructions where one or more folds are necessary to achieve the correct geometry.

Hot forming is often combined with milling and sawing, so we can offer finished-formed plastic components ready for the customer's assembly.
