CNC component machining

At Rolf Schmidt Industriplast, we specialise in precision CNC milling and CNC turning of components in accordance with our clients’ wishes and requirements, e.g. based on client sketches, drawings and samples. We also offer plastic welding, gluing and bending. Our production equipment comprises 3-axis to 5-axis machining centres and CNC turning centres with rotary tools. Rolf Schmidt Industriplast uses AutoCAD and Inventor CAD software. Our CAM software is EdgeCam and hyperMILL. We process all file formats, including SAT, STEP, IGES, DXF and DWG. Files can be uploaded directly to our CAM system. We have over 40 years of experience with CNC machining and the production of critical plastic components, for the machine and food industries in particular. We offer fast delivery times (5-10 working days), reliable delivery and excellent quality assurance. Rolf Schmidt Industriplast’s key task as a supplier is to work closely with our customers to develop solutions and ideas. We offer technical expertise in relation to plastics and make suggestions regarding the design or adjustments to or optimisation of components and the chosen materials. We also have the overriding objective of offering excellent service and fast and reliable delivery.

CNC milling

CNC milling is used in the machine production of components with flat and curved surfaces. During CNC milling, the component is held in place in a clamping tool attached to a milling plane, which moves longitudinally within the machine. The component does not rotate as it does during CNC turning. The process can be used for milled machine parts, spare parts, valves, etc. Maximum component size: L: 3,600 mm, W: 1,500 mm and H: 600 mm.

CNC turning

CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control, and refers to the production machines that are used. With the aid of a computer, many complex and uniform plastic components can be produced. Rolf Schmidt Industriplast has modern production machinery consisting of CNC turning centres with rotary tools, with and without Yamazaki Mazak sub-spindles. Maximum component size: Swivel diameter = 450 mm, swivel length =1,500 mm, spindle drilling = Ø102 mm.

CNC bending

We perform both hot and cold bending. The quickest solution for a large order is CNC bending, due to the high efficiency. CNC bending can be done on many different materials, and the plastic can be bent using either hot or cold bending. PC and PETG can be cold-bent for sheet thicknesses up to 5-6 mm. PC, PMMA, PETG, PVC, PP and PEHD500 can be hot-bent for sheet thicknesses up to 10 mm.

Plastic welding/gluing

In addition to CNC machining, Rolf Schmidt Industriplast offers gluing, welding, polishing, etc. For example, we can glue and weld containers, valves and fittings. Not all plastic materials can be glued, but Rolf Schmidt Industriplast offers various methods depending on the type of material. PMMA (acrylic) and PC are particularly suitable for gluing.
